Story Explorers
Join us on a magical journey through books! In this fun and engaging class, students will read a new storybook each week and become story detectives - exploring the characters, setting, and what makes each story exciting. We'll retell the stories in creative ways, helping students understand story structure while learning about how the protagonists and antagonists grow and change. Each week, one lucky student will take home a Book Buddy - a special stuffed animal that matches the book - along with a copy of the story. At home, they’ll practice reading, enjoy some time with their Book Buddy, and come back on Monday ready to share their adventure and help retell the story to the class and return the book and book buddy. By the end of the course, students will also begin creating their own stories using everything they’ve learned! This class builds reading comprehension, public-speaking, and creating writing skills - all while having a lot of fun!
